i-drop(r) is Autodesk's format for content distribution. The technology allows users to access the most up-to-date drawing files with drag-and-drop ease.

End-user operation is simple: users see an image, usually a thumbnail of the drawing file. The users can click on the image and drop the drawing directly into AutoCAD(r) 2000i or AutoCAD 2002. The drawing data is brought into the current drawing with full attribute information, if present.

End users must be using Internet Explorer version 5 or higher, AutoCAD 2000i or 2002, and must download the Autodesk i-drop ActiveX plugin.
